For homeowners

Ask your builder who's sizing the HVAC.

Designed for quiet, even comfort: a system sized to your house, not a rule of thumb.

How to work with us.

We work with builders, architects, and HVAC contractors, so the easiest way in is to ask yours to send us the plans. If you're earlier than that, questions about your own project are welcome. Send a note and we'll point you in the right direction.

Strome designs. It doesn't sell or install equipment, so the size on the schedule comes from the load calc. Why Strome started

Fresh air, filtration, or wildfire smoke?

If fresh air, filtration, or wildfire smoke is a priority, tell your builder or architect early, or tell us. The indoor air quality level adds ventilation, filtration, and a smoke mode to the HVAC design. It comes in the Strome Signature package. On a remodel, it can be added to HVAC design only.

What a sized system is designed to do.

  • Right-sized equipment

Every system starts with a room-by-room Manual J load calc. We pick equipment to match the result, not a rule of thumb.

  • Comfort, designed in

Equipment that fits the load is designed to run longer, steadier cycles. Room-by-room loads and duct design are how we design for even temperatures.

  • Less wasted energy

A system sized to the load is designed to use less energy than one that's oversized. We don't promise a number on your bill. That depends on the house, the weather, and how you live in it.

  • Designed to the energy code

Heat pump systems designed to the California Energy Code in effect for your permit application, with the compliance numbers in the Title 24 report, so the energy report matches the equipment.
